What is Ku
band?
The Ku band downlink uses frequencies between 11.7 and 12.7GHz.
Ku band satellites typically transmit with much more power than
C band satellites. This allows Ku band dishes to be smaller
(typically around 30") and helps Ku band transmissions to
overcome rainfade. Millions of listeners have moved to this option
for both TV and radio, since the entire setup costs less than
$200. Further, there are no monthly fees for the Free To Air stations
we broadcast on. Broadcasts are in multiple languages
but we broadcast only on English Language
stations.
